One of the reasons that I always liked vintage photographs is that they take you back to an earlier time when things were very different. It seams like things are so hectic these days that we never take the time to appreciate the small blessings in life. In past times, houses had front porches, and most porches had rocking chairs. People would visit with each other in the evening, enjoying the peaceful calm of a nice visit on a front porch. Now days, things are very busy, and in the evening people shut themselves up in their homes, and watch TV. I like old pictures, because they remind me to try to slow things down a little, and enjoy the special little blessings that each day holds. I really like the Native American photographs, because it reminds me that there were people here before the Europeans, and these people had a special way of life that we should never forget. The image below was taken in about 1900, and was hand tinted by an artist. I love the way the colors bring the image to life. As I look at the image, I wonder about the life of the man in the image. I wonder about the buffalo hunts he had been on, and whether he had ever fired his bow in battle.
